Thailand is currently heavily involved in the global economy, with significant foreign direct investment flowing into the country, and export/import activity equal to approximately 100 percent of GDP (103% in year 2002). While substantial, this activity needs to be enhanced both quantitatively and qualitatively for the economy to achieve sustainable levels of high growth in future years. The development of a cadre of managers who have been educated to be proficient in international operations can greatly contribute to the accomplishment of this goal.
