My Comments:
1. Parkbara is a waste of time & resources. I do not believe that this is a good idea as there's no clear picture of the actual and future demand as well as the hinterland is still undefined. I also know for a fact that the area is not suited for commercial shipping.
2. Ranong port has clearly the potential to become eitheir a fishing port or a tourist port but not cargo port.

From the prespective of port staff I must say that I understand how you feel as directions are never clear and there needs to be real proof that these ports are worth the investment but as you know in Thailand there is no one who is able to make a truly independent assessment as it usually depends on the will of the sponsoring agency.
Do Keep the faith...

At the mean time, trucking/container haulage between Thailand and M'Sia happens to be quite competitive and timely , especially when trade volume of both sides comes close to the balance.
