Another year has passed, and it’s the time for the recruitment of new MIM students for the upcoming year. The MIM Open House held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel on October 8, 2006 this year has been the biggest event so far with more than 300 participants. Interested candidates of various backgrounds from business, advertising, marketing, engineering, pharmaceutical, etc. were present, all attentive in learning more about what the Thammasat Master’s in Marketing Program has to offer.

The morning began with Assoc. Prof. Dr. James E. Nelson, visiting professor from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA giving an explanation of “Why MIM?” Shortly afterwards, the MIM Director, Asst. Prof. Pannapachr Itthiopassagul informed potential students the steps in admissions and examinations for entry into the program. MIM’s newly completed PR VDO was also shown at the MIM Open House, which featured some of MIM’s very own students focusing on the daily lifestyles of a student in the MIM program. Many of the alumni and current students present were cheering as the VDO progressed and all of us have to say that it was a very nice and modern presentation.

Next step, was a talk from a group of current students and alumni of the MIM Program providing prospects with “real-life and direct experiences” during their time in the program. Five very respectful individuals were asked to lead this session:

- Khun Medhee Jarumaneeroj, M14, Marketing Communcations Manager at Procter & Gamble
- Khun Suttipan Sutas Na Ayuthya, M17, the Managing Partner of Atvantage and Winner of 2005 Asia Moot Corp and 2005 Global Moot Corp business plan competition
- Khun Mayura Phitaksuksanti, M18, Assistant to Trade Department at the Embassy of Spain
- Khun Pipat Srimattayakul, M19, Class President, Business Partnership Assistant at True Move
- Khun Gor Thawonwisuttikul, M19, PR Coordinator at Asia Moot Corp

The focus was on “What is MIM and Why MIM?” Together, they covered topics such as the uniqueness of MIM and the admissions process. The team also offered a Q&A session for anyone with concerns. There were many questions, but due to time limits, we had to end.

By 1 PM, participants received a clearer view about the MIM program and the admissions process. MIM students and alumni were readily available for any questions and concerns people had. Thanks to all staff.

As a note, we would like to wish the upcoming class good luck in the admissions process and we all look forward to seeing you next year as you join the MIM family. See ya!!!
